ABOUT EVE

Quade-Mar20_6.jpeg

Eve Werger is a pianist and teacher who has performed globally on piano, organ, synthesizer, toy piano, and melodica. She specializes in the music of living composers, focusing primarily on rare and unfamilar works. Eve has proudly commissioned and premiered over 50 works in the past six years, including an album of contemporary solo piano music and a film score.

Eve has a thriving piano studio of students currently age 3 to 85. She takes pride in the community she has fostered of enthusiastic, explorative, and investigative pianists who perform music from a plethora of sources, including classical repertoire, popular music, and even their own compositions and improvisations.

WHAT EVE IS DOING NOW?

Eve is an adjunct piano professor at the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO) where she also graduated with a Master's of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. She studies piano under Dr. Peter Miyamoto and was a member of the Mizzou New Music Ensemble directed by Dr. Yoshiaki Onishi and Dr. Stephan Freund of Alarm Will Sound.  Eve recieved her undergraduate degree from the Lawrence University and Conservatory (Appleton, WI)  where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2020 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (studying under Dr. Michael Mizrahi) and a Bachelor of Arts in German Cultural Studies.

When not performing, studying, or teaching, Eve is eagerly exploring the hiking and bicycling trails of Missouri and tending to her garden of carnivorous plants.

COLLABORATIVE HISTORY

An active chamber and church musician, Eve is a staff pianist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and is a frequent substitute pianist for churches all around Mid-Missouri. Previously, Eve has performed with ensembles such as Eighth Blackbird, Yarn/Wire, ~Nois, and with members of the Wet Ink, Fifth House, Alarm Will Sound, and Khemia ensembles. Notably, Eve was the youngest-ever fellow to attend the Eighth Blackbird Creative Lab where she had the opportunity to collaborate with artists such as saxophonist Nick Zoulek, composers Annika Socolofsky and Shara Nova, and video artist XUAN. Eve has also worked alongside composers George Lewis and Pascal Le Boeuf in score editing, and she wrote her  Senior Thesis on the life and works of composer-pianist Dr. Nancy Van De Vate, with whom she briefly studied in Vienna, Austria. Most recently, Eve became the pianist for the Mizzou New Music Ensemble in which she worked closely with Alarm Will Sound and performed works by Evan Chambers, Chen Yi, Yoshiaki Onishi, Alex Berko, and George Lewis and played on film scores and musical promotions for art museums and the Missouri State Parks.
